Minnetonka Concrete Replacement involved more than 3,000 square feet of new concrete at this home, including the driveway, backyard patio, garage floor, front sidewalk, and front steps.
The project went beyond updating the home’s appearance. Improper patio slope had allowed water to collect against the house, contributing to rotted siding. During removal, we also found inconsistent reinforcement and concrete thickness ranging from 3 to 8 inches.
Watch the before-and-after video below to see the patio problems and the finished results. Then explore how our crew prepared the base, improved drainage, and rebuilt the concrete surfaces throughout the property.
A lasting concrete installation starts with the work beneath the surface. After removing the old driveway, patio, garage floor, sidewalk, and steps, our crew removed poor soils and installed a properly compacted base.
We then installed a consistent rebar grid with 3-foot-by-3-foot spacing. This preparation addressed the base and reinforcement problems we found during demolition and provided support for the new concrete.

The backyard patio needed more than a fresh surface. Its existing slope allowed water to collect against the home, so drainage was an important part of the replacement plan.
Our crew corrected the patio slope and installed a catch basin to help manage water in the backyard. We also replaced the garage floor with the proper slope.
For homeowners considering concrete replacement, this project shows why evaluating drainage before pouring is so important. The finished surface matters, but so does where the water goes.

Limited backyard access made demolition especially challenging. Multiple support columns restricted the working space, and some sections of the old concrete were up to 8 inches thick.
Our crew used a mini skid steer and jackhammer to carefully remove the concrete while working around the columns. Completing this stage required planning, patience, and equipment suited to the available space.
Once removal was complete, we could prepare the base and forms for the replacement patio.
This Minnetonka Concrete Replacement project also included a new driveway, front sidewalk, and front steps. Together with the patio and garage floor, these improvements renewed concrete surfaces throughout the property.
The finished photos show the scope of the installation—from the driveway and front entrance to the backyard living area. Each part of the project required attention to its layout, base preparation, reinforcement, and slope.

After finishing the concrete, we applied a cure-and-seal product to every new surface. The driveway also received a one-time application of penetrating sealer for added protection.
Curing and sealing were part of completing the installation, alongside the preparation and drainage work that took place before the pour.

More than 3,000 square feet of replacement concrete gave this Minnetonka home a refreshed appearance while addressing the drainage, soil, and reinforcement concerns uncovered during removal.
The project brought together a new driveway, backyard patio, garage floor, front sidewalk, and front steps. The before-and-after video and project photos document both the original problems and the completed work.
